RICS Help to Buy Valuation

What is a Help to Buy Valuation?

If you bought your home using the Help to Buy scheme, you’ll need a RICS valuation when you come to sell, remortgage, or repay your government loan.

Help to Buy loans are based on a percentage of the property’s value, not a fixed amount — meaning the amount you repay depends on the current market value.

This makes an accurate valuation essential.

Once completed, your valuation is sent to Homes England, who calculate how much you owe.

What’s included?

  • Inspection by a local RICS surveyor
  • Full description of the property and condition
  • Three recent comparable sales
  • A detailed, evidence-based market valuation
  • A report accepted by Homes England and lenders

How Long Does It take?

Your report will be produced and delivered on the next working day after the inspection.
